The David Barnett Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition that explores the relationship between music and the visual arts. This three-part exhibit will showcase artworks from our collection by artists acquired by the composer George Gershwin who said “Music is design—melody is line; harmony is color;” twenty-four original woodcuts from Wassily Kandinsky’s seminal artist’s portfolio Klänge from the original edition published in November 1912; and David Barnett’s newest drawings and paintings inspired by Gershwin’s music and that were created during a live piano session of Gershwin’s music.
