Join us during the closing week of “Arresting Beauty: Julia Margaret Cameron” for an intimate conversation with Katie Avila Loughmiller, Jodi Eastberg, and Glenda Mitchell as they discuss works featured in the exhibition.
Chosen because her work mirrors much of Julia Margaret Cameron’s practice, Katie Avila Loughmiller embodies the movement between performance and visual art, and her reflections will focus on storytelling, theater, and costuming in relation to the exhibition. Jodi Eastberg, PhD, brings her expertise on the British empire and on the Layton Art Collection works on view in “Arresting Beauty.” As a storyteller through digital and film photography, Glenda Mitchell brings a unique perspective on the importance of portraiture, womanhood, motherhood, race, and representation.
