A singular pianist, Hélène Grimaud is known for performances that are “bold, daring, beautiful, and intelligent” (Forbes). She approaches repertoire with a rare artistic freedom, creating “highly personal explorations that can stand out among dozens of rival performances” (The New Yorker). Returning to Baltimore for the first time in 10 years, the French pianist performs the final sonatas of Beethoven and Schubert, works of profound introspection and searing beauty. PROGRAM: Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827): Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111 Franz Schubert (1797-1828): Sonata in B-flat major, D. 960
