Lit for the Culture

Lit for the Culture™ is a curated literary and cultural experience celebrating Black women’s voices through storytelling, creativity, and community. Taking place on March 29 in Raleigh, the event features author conversations, a dynamic panel discussion, spoken word and live musical moments, and a thoughtfully curated vendor experience.
This year’s program includes a special appearance by Dr. Sandra Johnson, the first African American woman in the United States to earn a PhD in Chemical Engineering, whose historic legacy anchors the event’s Women’s History Month focus. Designed as both a celebration and a convening space, Lit for the Culture™ invites attendees into intentional dialogue, cultural connection, and collective reflection.
