Western Wake Speaker Lunch: “Homegrown Habitat: Sustainable Landscapes and Native Plants”

Program Description: “Homegrown Habitat: Sustainable Landscapes and Native Plants with master gardener Dale Batchelor” Just in time for spring! As we lose farms and woodlands to population growth, how we manage our backyards, patios, and balconies plays an increasingly important role in supporting healthy populations of birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Join us for an enlightening presentation about habitat gardens – gardens that emphasize native plants for their benefit to birds and other wildlife and employ sustainable landscape practices. Batchelor, owner of Gardener by Nature, is a frequent contributor to Triangle Gardener Magazine , writing about native plants and sustainable landscape practices.
